Cheers to Our Earth, Our Home
Choose sustainably sourced ingredients. Your diners (and their children) will thank you for it.
As diners get more conscious of sustainability practices in farming and agriculture, they also begin looking out for restaurants who share their values and beliefs.
This is where your restaurant can stand out. By choosing sustainably sourced ingredients, you are taking a stand on many environmental and social issues affecting our planet today – and sharing a common ground with diners who support the same causes.
Sustainably sourced choices from Unilever
In a previous article, we shared the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan and our aspiration to eventually source 100% of agricultural raw materials by 2020.
We are also expanding our selection to include products made with sustainably sourced ingredients – so you can play a part in supporting the sustainability of our planet and communities, simply by choosing to use these quality ingredients in your recipes.
Knorr Pronto Tomato and Knorr Tomato Paste
Our most popular sustainably sourced food selections are the Knorr Pronto Tomato and Tomato Paste products.
Trusted by chefs because of their natural taste, texture and flavour, these products are made with sustainably grown Italian tomatoes. Whether you’re keen on supporting a sustainable food supply or if you simply want convenient yet rich and real-tasting tomato flavour enriching your dishes, these ingredients should be on top of your next order list.
Lipton Tea
The Lipton tea range continues to be our top selling sustainably sourced beverage product. Most customers don’t know this, but since 2015, all Lipton tea bags have been 100% Rainforest Alliance certified.
Rainforest Alliance certification encourages farmers to grow crops and manage estates sustainably. This means that every box of Lipton tea you purchase helps improve the social, economic and environmental conditions of the people who grow each leaf.
Healthy products for healthy lifestyles
As many consumers want food that is good for both their health and the planet, sustainable sourcing and healthier dining choices do go hand-in-hand. And for many diners, a healthier diet means less meat, salt, fat and sugar – and more vegetables, plant-based food, teas, as well as whole grains and healthy oils. That’s why we continually work to improve the taste and nutritional values of our products.
In line with the Singapore government’s Health Promotion Board’s (HPB) drive to encourage healthier lifestyle choices among Singaporeans, Unilever Food Solutions has a range of Healthier Choice products that contain reduced salt content while retaining the same great taste that chefs and diners love.
